Landtag Constituencies in Saxony (urban), 1868–1909
Note: These urban
contstituencies for Saxon Landtag elections were legislated in the suffrage reform
of 1868. In the Landtag elections of June 1869, all 80 mandates in the Saxon
Landtag were contested. Thereafter, one-third of mandates were contested every
two years, according to the rhythm indicated here with color coding. Another
suffrage reform in 1896 changed the way votes were cast and counted, although
constituency boundaries were not changed until another suffrage reform in 1909.
In 1892 two consituencies were added to Leipzigs existing three. See the text
of Red Saxony for an explanation of how
these constituencies were constructed. After each constituency name, the figure
in parentheses indicates the number of towns or cities included in each one. See also Wolfgang Schröder, Landtagswahlen im Königreich Sachsen 1869
